2006 STOLLER SV ESTATE PINOT NOIR
It was a Wednesday evening, the dishes were dirty, the baby was screaming, the writing had not gone well that day and we were willing to try ANYTHING to salvage the rest of the day. This bottle softly called our name from the shelf - we hadn't tried it before - and with a kind of "what-else-could-go-wrong?" sigh, we popped it open. And were greeted by a lovely nose of berries and minerals and the good Earth of Dundee, Oregon; and then a soft, velvet texture on the tongue, more exploding red fruits and a warm, lingering finish, courtesy of the original vineyards planted on the old Stoller turkey farm. Honestly, we couldn't ask anything more from a Pinot Noir (okay, besides changing and rocking the baby to sleep) and were grateful for this one. Next time we'll drink it under less trying circumstances. $40. Click here to order.
